I was inspired by the song “Highwayman” by Jimmy Webb, specifically the version performed by the supergroup of Willie Nelson, Kris Kristofferson, Waylon Jennings, and Johnny Cash called The Highwaymen.

What I love about this rendition is each artist gets their own verse. This makes each one feel like a new story about the same soul, and its that feeling that led to the creation of these short stories.
